updates and things

When in the Chicagoland area, change-free is not the way to go.  I found myself driving to Schaumburg on Wednesday when some loco rocos in a hoopty Lexus almost ran me over the road.  I resisted the urge to flip them off but that didn’t make things better.  I missed the I-290 interchange anyway.  So, I hauled ass to the next exit and found out that the town of Barrington requires one to pay a toll to exit the freeway.  My purse got emptied of pennies and dimes and the green light indicated I could move forward.  A quick turnaround and I was once again eastbound only to find that I needed another thirty cents in order to exit.  Luckily, a man was emptying the change out of the machine.  I asked him if he had change for a dollar.  He gave me the pink slip (aka Missed Toll Form) and said, "Read this, you will need to pay the toll online within 7 days."  And so today, I went online and paid a whopping $0.30 to the Illinois Tollway. 

I spent part of the afternoon at Woodfield Mall while waiting for L&F to come out for dinner.  She had suggested Maggiano’s so there was no point in me going back to the city since the place was out in the ‘burbs.  We talked of Prague, Budapest and Germany over braised beef cannelloni.  Family updates and future travel plans over tiramisu and creme brulee.

My drive back to the city was side tracked when I got a call from Judie Pie.  It was his birthday and he was out with friends.  Northalsted it is, then! This time around we were off to Spin for $1 drinks.  It was the perfect amuse bouche evening for this out about town FagHag!
